Layoffs from the Subprime Crisis

I know its very depressing, but I wanted to catalog all the layoffs because of the subprime crisis. There are 3 main reasons I want to do this:

1. Size and impact on real jobs of the mortgage crisis. Its easy to turn the page when we see announcements that state that Merrill Lynch had a $10 B writeoff or Citigroup had a $10 B writeoff due to the subprime lending mess, but its a whole entire thing to see the number of job losses.

2. Geographical impact: where (regions, cities) is the impact being felt the most by city, state, etc.

3. Industries: while its obvious that mortgage and financial industries are facing a huge loss of jobs, there are several other that are indirectly affected by it.

I will attempt to correlate the impact of the subprime mortgage crisis on jobs.
